Supporting the agency in this RFP, I conducted in-depth research, including hands-on testing of the Chick-fil-A app. My heuristic evaluation identified key usability issues, leading to proposed solutions like improved menu navigation, customization workflow, feedback mechanisms, and reordering experience.

Project Overview

This project focused on evaluating and improving the order creation experience within the Chick-fil-A (CFA) iOS app, emphasizing usability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The agency sought to identify pain points in the process of browsing the menu, customizing items, and submitting an order. Through a heuristic evaluation using a tailored set of 10 usability principles, key issues were uncovered, such as navigation complexity, unclear customization workflows, and inadequate feedback mechanisms.

Presentation Deck

In addition to the prototype, I prepared a comprehensive presentation deck that detailed the entire evaluation process, insights, and design recommendations. The deck served as a compelling case to support the agency's proposal, presenting the findings in an organized and professional format. It included visual snapshots of the interactive prototype, as well as charts and graphs that illustrated the potential impact of the proposed improvements on the app's overall usability. The deck was shared with the agency to help them successfully pitch their solution to Chick-fil-A.

To effectively communicate my findings and proposed solutions, I developed an interactive prototype that showcased the key improvements in action. This allowed stakeholders to visualize the proposed changes in a dynamic, hands-on format. The prototype demonstrated enhancements in the menu navigation, item customization, and feedback interactions, enabling a clear understanding of how these adjustments would improve the user experience. As a result of my contributions, the agency secured the contract with Chick-fil-A, demonstrating the value of user-centered design in driving business success. The project not only improved the app’s usability but also highlighted the effectiveness of well-communicated, strategic UX solutions in securing new business opportunities.
